“That Awkward Moment When…”

I am sure that in the recent weeks you have come across at least one instance of the newly popular phrase “That awkard moment when…” in a Facebook status update, a tweet on Twitter, or my all-time favorite, in a text message. Occasionally a person is able to successfully end this phrase with a somewhat humorous “awkward moment.” However, more often than not as of late, this is not the case. I have not quite figured out if it is a result caused by the incessant need to keep up with the latest social networking trends or if the people who inadequately (and quite painfully) use this novel phrase because they actually believe that the “awkward moment” they proclaim to the world is, in fact, awkward.

In response to this rising inclination to deem a pointless situation, that in all honestly would be best kept to oneself, as “awkward,” I have come up with my own “awkward” moment to share with the social networking world:

“That awkward moment when… your awkward moment really isn’t that awkward at all.”

I truly believe that that could indeed be a valid “awkward moment.” Well, for the recipient of this not-so-awkward moment at least.

I have decided to share a few moments I have stumbled across that could be deemed an eligible awkward moment, in my opinion.

Genuine Awkward Moments worth Noting:

That really is, in the most honest form of the term, an awkward moment. Especially if you don’t have said “boobs” to begin with. Then you have nothing left to do but call yourself out in this instance of awkwardness.

For example: xoxoxoxsexigoddess@hotmail.com, abercrombiebabi3498374@gmail.com, etc. You get the point. Either establish a new email for yourself once you hit puberty or suffer this awkward moment with no pity from witnesses.

I found this relevant due to the current Presidential race going on the US. It might just be me, but if there is really nothing better to report on in the front page of a newspaper, then said newspaper is creating an awkward moment not only for itself, but for the readers of this newspaper. Unless, of course, you are the author of this article. They sex with animals just might be the prominent issue in your life.

This might not be as awkward as it would be terrifying for the poor kid in search for candy in a stranger’s van, but come on parents. Your parenthood, or lack thereof, is not only awkward but pathetic.

It’s especially awkward when you’re the only one who understands the stupidity of said joke in your circle of guffawing, idiotic friends.

‘Nough said.
