Two Iranian Warships Sail Through Suez Canal.

On Saturday, two Iranian warships were spotted crossing through Egypt’s Suez Canal. There has only been two previous reports of this happening, one just last year and another in 1979. This may indicate a war between Iran and Israel. It has been thought to believe that Israel has started a pre-emptive strike against Iran for its nuclear war program. Iran, however, insists that program is solely used for energy purposes. Just one day before the incident, the U.S. received a letter from Iran stating that they are open to stalling their nuclear war program. By 1978′s David Accords and 1888′s Constantinople Convention, all ships are guaranteed a right of passage through the Suez Canal.  [CNN]

Majority of Youth are Online Pirates.

As children of the 90′s, most of us can remember when Napster and Limewire were invented. Some of us may have spent hours in front of the computer downloading hits by NSYNC, Britney Spears, or even Will Smith. With the recent controversy involving SOPA, some of us may not like to admit that we’ve done so. However, a recent study by Columbia University has discovered that 70 percent of 18- to 29-year-olds have illegally downloaded music, movies, or TV shows. There are several ways to look at this finding. First, because we were exposed to the notion of getting things for free at a young age, we will continue our pirate ways. Second, we are actually willing to pay for things if the merchandise is reasonably priced, also known as compromise. Think of Radiohead or Girl Talk. These musicians allow their fans to decide the price of their music. Third, the majority of the youth should be fined for infringing on intellectual property (those darn kids!)… Which notion do you support? [Huffington Post]

Landmark’s Racial Slurs.

Apparently companies don’t learn from another company’s mistake. Just one month after Papa John’s apologized to an Asian customer for having printed “lady  chinky eyes” on a receipt, The Landmark Steakhouse in Corona del Mar, California has settled on a lawsuit filed last March where a regular, Mark McHenry, received three separate receipts using derogatory language. One stated had “McStinkyN*gger”, another “McNigS*it”, and the last “McCottonwood.” More than one employee made racial comments, but it was the bartender who wrote on the receipts. He was fired one week after the lawsuit was made, and attempted to apologize to McHenry via text. Really, Mr. Bartender, text messages? Are you sixteen or something? Also, racism is a thing of the past. Get over it. Fact: one in 12 marriages are interracial. [Yahoo! News]
